This story is based on Hans Christian Anderson's popular fairy tale, The Nightingale. The story is set in ancient China and tells of the friendship between the Emperor and a nightingale.

The Nightingale and the Emperor tells the same story, but it tells it from the nightingale's point of view so the reader gets to see how the little bird feel about what goes on.

Writing a story from the point of view of a different character can be lots of fun, and very interesting. Why don't you give it a go? Image how the Giant in Jack and the Beanstalk felt - or imagine how the Wolf felt in the Three Little Pigs...
